A management letter is a conversation starter, not a verdict on your character. Still, boards in Taiwan often treat every comment as equally urgent, which spreads attention thin.
Start by sorting findings into design weaknesses versus operating lapses. A missing approval matrix is different from a matrix that exists but was skipped twice in December.
Ask for the sample size and population behind each comment. A control that failed once in twenty samples deserves a different response than one that failed twelve times.
Assign a named owner and a realistic target date for each accepted recommendation. Vague ownership is how last year's letter reappears word-for-word.
Remediation support engagements exist precisely for this stage: clarifying language with auditors, rewriting control descriptions staff can follow, and retesting in the next quarter.
